WORKSHOPS/MEETINGS 2012
One day workshops within the framework of the main geological meetings in Argentina were organized for 2012:
1st Workshop of the Group, Argentine Sedimentological Meeting (AAS), Salta (Central Andes, NW Arg.), 18th May, 2012.
The meeting provided a good opportunity to present the skill initiative within the community of Argentine geologists mainly working in the field of Quaternary stratigraphy and sedimentology, seeking to increase the interaction between them and the community of the initial list of South American specialists of the Group. The aim was to discuss the exchange of information and different proposals in order to enhance ongoing initiatives (the involvement of early career scientists, the training of young scientists in fieldworks run by experienced scientists, the promotion of the attendance and active participation of active post-graduate students and early-career researchers to the future meetings of the Group, the promotion of innovative contributions on the application of new methodological approaches, between others).

2nd Workshop of the Group, V Argentine Congress on Quaternary and Geomorfology, Río Cuarto (Pampean Ranges, central Arg.), 3th October, 2012.
The aim of the meeting was to present and discuss the activities of the Group within the community of South American geologists working on Geomorphology and between those working in other areas of the Quaternary research. The objective of the workshop focused on a series of tasks in order to consolidate the Group. The analysis of correlation between sedimentary records from different countries and natural regions of the continent and related to the reconstruction of environmental responses during the last glacial-interglacial cycle is one of the key points for discussions.
